The American Racing Pigeon Union (AU) is committed to helping reunite lost racing pigeons with their owners. Through the AU Lost & Found program, individuals who find a banded pigeon can report the bird and help connect it with its owner. Each AU band contains a unique identification number that allows the pigeon to be traced back to its registered owner. This service reflects the AU's commitment to responsible pigeon ownership, bird welfare, and supporting the racing pigeon community across the United States.

Important Information About Pigeon Identification Bands
Official American Racing Pigeon Union (AU) identification bands contain a special identifying symbol that distinguishes them from unofficial or counterfeit bands. For security reasons, this symbol is not displayed publicly.
If you have found a pigeon wearing a band that does not contain this symbol, the band may not be an official AU-issued band, and the pigeon may not be registered with the AU.
Please understand that AU members may be unable to identify or claim pigeons wearing unofficial or counterfeit bands. This does not mean that the member is unwilling to assist. Rather, the band may not be associated with a pigeon registered to that member.
Not all banded pigeons are registered with the AU. Other pigeon organizations issue their own identification bands, and you may need to contact the appropriate organization to locate the bird's owner.
