I was happy to come across this web site. I grew up with the birds. My father started flying when he was a young teen and our life centered around the races, training, breeding.... I miss it a lot. I'm a grown woman, but if I was in a position to keep and race, I'd be doing it now. I'm so glad to see this it still going strong! Thanks for your time.
I would like information on how to become a home short flight hobbist. my intrest peeked when a friendly pigon stayed at my farm for a couple of days then was hit by a car . when i picked the little fella up i noticed a band with #2007 2863 au fv? tag I have contacted pigon 911.

I found your web site very interesting and helpful. I'm trying to get all the information that I can on joining this hobby. A white pigeon has been killed in Mission Hills CA by a hawk. I haven't been able to get the leg band yet as it is still stashed up in the tree, but it looks like it is totally white and the leg band is blue. If we are able to get the leg band, I will send more info, but I thought whoever he belongs to will like to know.

I found a bird outside of the building where i work, it was exhausted. We have a farm with chickens, ducks, and a peacock, so i took the pigeon home, put it in a cage with birdfeed and water. This sight is a valuable tool for those who know nothing about taking care of these beautiful birds. I also know to let it go it a couple of days, although i will hate to see it go.
I was mowing our lawn when this tired sweet pigeon walked up to me. My husband and his brother helped water and feed it. We put it in a pet carrier and contacted the owner from this website. The owner was so elated.

Found a beautiful pidgeon hanging around our house for the past few days. I caught it, put it in a large cage...it was so friendly that I was afraid it would be killed by a cat or some other animal. This is a great website. We\'ve contacted the AU club in Massachusetts and was able to locate the owner.
We had a pigeon with a band on it's leg show up in our yard today. Thanks to the information on this site (others please see lost bird info list) we were able to find the owner quicky and contact him. He will be picking up the bird today. Thanks.

My daughter and I have just purchased 6 White Homers who are "Squeekers" and 2 Eyptian Swifts. We have a desire to race our birds and will join the ARPU today. I am interested in contacting a local chapter here on Long Island, NY.
